There was a revival of daguerreotypy in the late 20th century by a small number of photographers interested in making artistic use of early photographic processes. Although portions of the paper seal around the card covering the daguerreotype plate are beginning to split from age, the edges of this seal are largely undisturbed and show no signs of tampering.
